Mini sessions are how I first got started in photography. They gave me the opportunity to gain consistent practice with posing, camera settings, and editing, while also learning how to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience for families. Along the way, they also allowed me to meet so many wonderful clients - many of whom have become returning families and have referred me to others, which has meant so much as my business has grown.
Mini sessions are designed to be a simple, relaxed way to capture meaningful moments without committing to a full session. These sessions are short, fun, and focused on genuine connection - perfect for families who want updated photos while keeping things easy and low-stress. Mini sessions are scheduled at predetermined locations chosen for their beautiful light and natural backdrops, and are held during either sunrise or golden hour to capture the most flattering, soft lighting. Most of my Mini sessions are located in Minneapolis, MN, or within a 20-30 minute drive to surrounding suburbs.
Each mini session is $275 and includes 15 minutes of shooting time and a full gallery of 20+ edited images. These sessions are intended for immediate family only. If you have a family larger than six people, or are hoping to include extended family, you’ll need to book two back-to-back sessions for $395. If you're interested in this option, please reach out directly so I can help coordinate the booking. Otherwise, a full session may be the best fit.

Newborns are welcome during mini sessions if you're simply looking for updated family photos. However, if you're hoping for a dedicated newborn experience, a full newborn session is recommended to allow more time and flexibility.
Booking is completed automatically through the scheduling link HERE. Once you select your time, you’ll sign the contract, complete a brief questionnaire, and submit the $50 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot. After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email. A few days before your session, I’ll send another email with the exact meeting location, parking details, and any additional information you may need. The remaining session balance is due by the Mini Session date. Photos are delivered through a digital gallery within 2 weeks (unless otherwise notified) and you will have printing and sharing rights!
Because mini sessions are mostly scheduled outdoors and depend on good lighting, each date includes a rain date. I recommend keeping both dates open, just in case. If weather becomes an issue, I will send an email at least two hours before the first session confirming that sessions will move to the rain date.
Mini sessions move quickly and are designed to focus on one type of session. They are not intended for extended families (unless you book two minis) or combination sessions such as family and senior photos in one time slot. If you're hoping for a combination session, please reach out in advance for approval or consider booking a full session, which allows for more time and flexibility.
Mini sessions are scheduled back-to-back and move quickly. If you arrive late to your scheduled time, you will only be able to use the remaining time in your slot, as I’m unable to extend sessions without impacting other families. If you do not arrive for your scheduled session, you will still be responsible for the full session fee. If you need to reschedule, I may be able to accommodate a new time for a $50 rescheduling fee, provided I am notified at least 24 hours prior to your session.
Mini sessions are meant to be fun, lively, and relaxed. Come ready to laugh, connect, and simply enjoy your people. The shorter time frame often helps keep kids engaged and allows for natural, genuine moments to unfold.
I offer mini sessions throughout the year, with some of the most popular being summer and fall beach minis, as well as holiday minis in November and December. These limited offerings provide a variety of beautiful locations and seasonal opportunities to update your photos.
