My #1 location for my summer minis has been Excelsior Beach in Excelsior, MN! This location is beautiful from late spring through October. It hosts a variety of backgrounds, two beaches, a private path leading to an outdoor alcove, a beautiful hill with trees and a more quiet water front area. Excelsior beach tends to be more crowded during summer evenings and I'd recommend booking a morning session here if you'd like to avoid the crowds and have more beach space to roam.
I've had clients tell me this feels like the ocean in Minnesota since there are constant boats on the water that keep the waves rolling on the beach, giving it that ocean feel, only 25 minutes from the city.
